PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- A juvenile has been charged with attempted first-degree murder after the Pueblo Police Department (PPD) says a person was injured in a shooting at Briarwood Park in September.
According to PPD, officers first received a shots-fired call on September 12 around 2:30 a.m. about a group of juveniles in Briarwood Park.
Officers say they found one person suffering from a gunshot wound when they arrived at the park. That person was taken to a local hospital in serious, but stable condition at the time. PPD says detectives from its Special Investigations Division, Non-Fatal Shoot team started an investigation.
They say they later identified a suspect and obtained an arrest warrant. PPD says they served the warrant on October 8 at the Pueblo Youth Corrections Facility.
They are now facing an additional charge of attempted first-degree murder/extreme indifference. PPD says the investigation is still active and ongoing.
